Position Description

- Title : Juvenile Justice Specialist

- Location : Rabat

- Background

BlueLaw International is seeking a Juvenile Justice Specialist to support a US Government funded juvenile justice initiative in Morocco.

Responsibilities

The Juvenile Justice Specialist will be responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality implementation of technical activities in coordination with the relevant Government entities.

Key responsibilities include :

- Participate in the establishment of program management plans and development of implementation strategies, and monitoring and evaluation for the initiative.
- Provide guidance on best practices in juvenile justice service delivery.
- Collaborate, as appropriate, with other juvenile justice reform programs to coordinate effective planning and implementation of activities.
- Coordinate and oversee technical activities in support of project objectives, and contribute and/or advise as appropriate.
- Coordinate short-term technical assistance from US and third-country senior juvenile justice advisors.
- Provide regular briefing to the project management on technical aspects of program implementation.
- Perform other tasks as requested by the project management.

External relations : Act as liaison between the US Government, relevant Moroccan Government entities, and interested civil society organizations.

Qualifications and Skills :

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in law, psychology, social work, or another field relevant to juvenile justice.

- Advanced degree in relevant field an advantage.

- Minimum of 7 years experience as an attorney, judge, psychologist, or social worker.

- Excellent general knowledge of the Moroccan juvenile justice system preferred.

- Proven ability to coordinate among various actors, including government entities and nongovernmental organizations.

- Experience working on or coordinating with previous development projects preferred but not required.

- Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate and manage staff.

- Excellent computer and interpersonal communication skills.

- Good spoken and written English.
